Ian Lashley

Ian Lashley is a NCCA recognized personal trainer through Action Certificate. Ian Lashley is a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Ian Lashley personal trains clients one on one and semi private sessions. He trains clients in jiu jitsu, strength training, athletic development & performance, and weight loss. David Lashley


David Lashley has his black belt in Ko Sutemi Karate, Sei Kan Ju Jitsu, Shingitai Ju Jitsu, Krav Maga level 1 cert., OPOTC Defensive tactic instructor cert., and Brazilain Jiu Jitsu black belt from Vitor Oliveira. David has over 25+ years of experience in the martial arts field. He instructs all the adult classes and also instructs a combatives class. David Lashley is a level 1 Krav Maga instructor. He also has instructed many self defense seminars. " You have to work smarter...not harder" -David Lashley

Matt Gottermeyer


Matt has been with Lashley’s for two years. He is certified in personal training and nutrition through ISSA. His personal training clients have ranged from college athletes and professional fighters to youth football players and persons with special needs. He is the coach of the Lashley Spartan Team and trains members and clients for one of the countries biggest obstacle races. Matt competes in Jiu Jitsu and has been coaching and giving private (beginners) lessons to adults as well as kids for the past year. He is also a honey badger.

Joel Littleton


Joel Littleton has been with Lashley Training Center since May of 2018. Joel holds a purple belt in American Kenpo, a purple belt in Ishizue Karate, a white belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, as well as training in Muay Thai, Boxing, and Wrestling. Joel is currently working on receiving his Personal Training license through Action Certificate. Joel helps teach the Karate and Jiu-Jitsu classes at both our Mount Vernon and Danville gyms he also works with clients one on one or in small groups training in powerlifting, martial arts, and weight loss. “Remember to have fun” -Joel Littleton

Amateur MMA fighter, Boxing coach under Steven Saldana, Purple belt in jiu-jitsu, I also help teach not only the kids and adult boxing classes Monday and Wednesdays every week but I help with Jiu-jitsu and with private sessions also. Dylan David

Sports and Fitness Training

Dylan is a graduate of local East Knox High School where he was an All-State Offensive Tackle. He then decided to attend Ashland University to pursue a degree in Education, as well as play football. He was an Academic All-GLIAC selection before ever-going a career ending injury. After the injury, he joined the coaching staff at AU as an Offensive Line Assistant for a year. After a short stint at Kenyon College as an offensive assistant, he is now back at AU coaching the Fullbacks. Dylan specializes in training athletes, as well as powerlifting.

Crystal Fisher


Crystal Fisher is a recognized personal trainer through ISSA. Crystal Fisher personal trains clients one on one and semi private sessions. Troy Butts has over 20 years of experience in the fitness field. Troy is a NCCA recognized trainer through Action Certification. He trains people one on one and semi privately. He focuses on strength training, bodybuilding, boxing, and weight loss."I haven't met anyone that didn't want to look better or feel better" -Troy Butts 

Jay Mahan


Jay has been teaching Karate and Self Defense for 20 years. He is a US Marine Reserve and Ohio National Guard Veteran, 3rd degree black belt in the AKKW Karate Style and an NRA Certified Handgun Instructor. He believes in martial arts as a lifetime fitness and character development journey.

Steve Saldana


Steve is our striking coach. He specializes in boxing and is a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He is currently 12-0 as a amateur boxer, and 7-4 as a amateur MMA fighter.
