01About us
A basement in 1995.
Three buildings, 1,800 members and 30 years later, still a family business — and still run by the family.
02The story
How we got here.
Lashley Training Center began in 1995 in a 600-square-foot section of David Lashley’s basement. That’s when he started his martial arts journey and wanted to help others do the same. When his son Ian was six, he remembers going down to the basement and watching about ten guys repping armbars and grappling. He grew up learning martial arts and watching his father coach.
Ian took over in 2016 and grew the gym into a 22,000-square-foot training center on Parrott Street — dojo, mat room, boxing ring and a 24/7 gym in the red building next door. Danville followed, and in August 2026 Fredericktown opened its doors with around 300 people signed up before the first day.
Today you can train in Jiu Jitsu, Krav Maga, boxing, karate, group fitness, one-on-one and virtual personal training, Bootcamp and nutrition under one roof. We are a family-oriented gym, and our members are part of our family.
“Fitness With A Purpose.”
